Know Before You Go: Harry Potter the Exhibition in NYC
Wands at the ready! An all new immersive Harry Potter experience is making it’s way to NYC this summer. Touted as the most comprehensive touring exhibit on Harry Potter and the entire wizarding world, the exhibition will be making a summer stop in Herald Square. Here is everything you need to know before heading to Harry Potter: The Exhibition.
What dates will Harry Potter the Exhibition be available in NYC?
The exhibition is scheduled to open on May 19th 2023. As of today (5/11) tickets are available to purchase through October 15th 2023. While they are planning to be open 7 days a week, the hours of operation will vary by day. For available ticketing times it’s best to visit the website.
Are reservations required to attend?
The exhibition is a ticketed event so technically, reservations are required to attend. Upon purchasing your ticket you aree able to select from three different ticket types.
- Timed entry ticket: This ticket can be used to enter the event on the date selected within a 30 minute window of the time selected. This means if you purchase a ticket for 3pm entry, you are able to enter the experience anywhere from 3-3:30pm.
- Flex Ticket: This ticket option is best if you are unsure of the date and time you want to attend. When you purchase a flex ticket you are able to enter during any operating hours for the month you select during ticket purchase. This may also be the best option if you want to purchase tickets as a gift.
- VIP tickets: With a dedicated entrance and a few other VIP perks, this ticket option is best for those that want to make their exhibition experience even more magical!
Tickets are required for all guests ages 3 and up!
Is Harry Potter: The Exhibition family friendly?
The exhibition itself is a self guided tour that can take anywhere from 60-90 minutes. In the NYC location speficically, strollers are not permitted into the event. Guests of all ages are welcome but the exhibition’s FAQ page does caution that some rooms may be scary for younger guests. If you have little ones that are big fans of the Harry Potter franchise, then I would bring them along!
Am I allowed to dress up for the exhibition?
Yes! Guests heading to Harry Potter: The exhibition are welcome and encouraged to dress up for the event! You can use the hashtag #HarryPotterExhibition to share on social media! Wands are also allowed.
