If you follow me elsewhere, then you’ve seen me talk on social about the new show I cohost week called “The Brown Side of Disney”. We’re 3 shows in, going live on Facebook every Monday night at 9pm est. and it’s been one of the most fun projects I’ve had the opportunity of collaborating on. This past Monday our theme was all about following your dreams. We chatted about Ruth Carter and her amazing Oscars win, and a little bitabout Disney Dreamers Academy.
We also spoke about Dream Big Princess.
Dream Big Princess is an initiative that was started by Disney in 2016, that taps into the power of Disney Princesses to inspire kids. Through their initiative, Disney ran several photography and video campaigns. All of the proceeds raised went to Girl Up, a United Nations Foundation supporting girls’ leadership and empowerment.
The latest video in the series explores the power of imagination. I was excited to see this video today, having just spoke about it on Monday. Also, I was happy to see Moana in the video! Disney’s official princess line up hasn’t been updated in a WHILE. Though Moana made her appearance in the princess scene of Ralph Breaks the Internet, I’m hoping she’s moving closer to official princess status.
