You probably already know this but my family LOVES the waterpark. My children think they can swim (should probably enroll them in some lessons) and they take any opportunity they can to get in the waterpark. When it comes to birthdays, we haven’t done a party since RJ turned 2. We love to travel and my kids love new experiences. They honestly are happy just being in a hotel but we try to give them experiences that will create tons of memories. So when the Kartrite Resort and Indoor Waterpark opened up earlier this year, we knew we had to get there. And let me tell you, birthdays are an absolutely amazing time to do it! Here is why you should consider spending your birthday at The Kartrite Resort and Indoor Waterpark.
The Rooms
The rooms at The Kartrite are BEAUTIFUL. You know how you check out a hotel online, and the room looks great in pictures, but then you get there and its something completely opposite? Not in this instance. The rooms are even more amazing in person than shown online. They truly have a room type for everyone. Whether it’s a Junior Suite with double queen beds, or a 3 bedroom grand corner suite (up to 12 guests!!!) they have a space for everyone. The rooms are perfect for families and friends of all sizes. Check out RJ giving a room tour of our 2 bedroom suite with a balcony.
The WaterPark
If you are rolling your eyes and feeling like this should be an obvious answer, it isn’t. I have been to many a park and The Kartrite has impressed eye the most thus far! The Kartrite boasts New York’s biggest indoor waterpark and at a warm 84 degrees, if you have a fall/winter babe like we do, it’s the perfect getaway from the cold. The park has something for water lovers of every level from the FlowRider, to the Nor’easter and Puddle Ducks for the smallest splashers. The boys loved Later Gator Crossing and RJ rode the lazy river with his Grana. We spent a full day in the waterpark and never lacked things to do. You can easily spend multiple days here.
The Food
Picky eaters, fear not! The Kartrite has an impressive array of dining options. Since we only stayed a couple days (and we got in kind of late one night) we only had time to eat at Bixby’s Derby, but my 2 year old was in Mac and Cheese heaven and I was impressed with the portion sizes even on the kids menu. I have heard amazing things about Eat. Eat. Eat and their breakfast buffet, so I definitely want to give that a try on our next trip.
The Activities
The Kartrite has daily activities for kids and families. While we were there they had a daily movie night (and it was holiday time soooo, Christmas movies!) and they have multiple activities for children throughout the day. The resort offers crafts, activities, video game touraments and even different “challenges” in the waterpark. To check out their calendar of daily activities take a look here.
Playopolis
You haven’t seen an indoor arcade like this! The boys LOVED Playopolis and I loved taking a break from them splashing water in my face. Aside from an arcade, Playopolis also features Van Winkles bowling alley, there’s air hockey and a few other indoor adventures right on the same level. If your kid is into laser tag, rock climbing or rope courses…. they’re going to be in indoor play heaven! A birthday at the Kartrite resort definitely wouldn’t lack adventure.
Bonus: The Price
Okay fine so this one is really for the parents. But maybe you’re doing your best to raise money conscious kids, and then they’ll be happy about this too! The Kartrite has room rates starting as low as $119/night. This includes waterpark admission for all guests and that’s a price that cannot be beat! You can also always take the time to follow The Kartrite on social where they are frequently sharing specials throughout the year and even a giveaway occasionally. For the experience that you get, the price can’t be beat!
Would you ever spend your birthday at The Kartrite Resort? Is your family a fan of waterparks?
