My family and I received a free jump session at the newly opened LAUNCH Trampoline Park in Queens, NY. All opinions expressed are my own.
FINALLY! LAUNCH Trampoline Park has come to Queens and it is everything we needed in the boroughs! I loved indoor trampoline parks BEFORE I had kids but now, they’re a whole different kind of experience. An experience that I definitely appreciate but one that I just couldn’t drag myself all the way out to exit 800839924 on the LIE for, not with two toddlers.
Soooooo when I saw LAUNCH was opening up right in Queens I COULD. NOT. WAIT. Y’all know RJ is ACTIVE and I knew this would be right up their alley, so I was excited we got to head in Tuesday night to check out the facilities and get in a 90 minute jump session.
If you’ve been to an indoor trampoline park before, then you’re aware that when you arrive you come in, and sign waivers before you head to the counter and pay for your jump session. The waiver and check in process was seamless for us as it wasn’t too busy, but it does look like they have the front area set up in a controlled manner for when the chaos does kick in (like next week when theres no school!). If you want to expedite that process even further, you could always fill out your waiver before hand online and that would definitely save you time on a busy afternoon. After waivers, you get socks, pay for your session and then you head up to the jump area which is HUGE.
With a huge main main jump arena, LAUNCH has plenty of space for jumpers of all ages. The boys were able to run and jump freely without being in the way of any of the bigger kids (and adults) that were jumping a little more…. exuberantly (LOL) than they were. They also have multiple dodgeball courts, a jump basketball arena for adults (and multiple heights for kids in the main arena), a rock climbing wall, a battle beam AND a obstacle course. When you add that in with the arcade games and concession area, LAUNCH truly has something for everybody. You could easily spend the day here if your children have the same endless energy mine do. Check out more pictures from our evening at the park, and to see more of the facilities.
I am so happy LAUNCH came to queens and it is definitely the perfect place for families, especially with temperatures starting to drop in NYC. If you head over to their website, you can sign up for a session online and receive 10% off your first jump! Also, if you aren’t already, follow me on Instagram and check out my NYC and Mom Life highlights & you can check out some adorable kiddie videos from our night there.
So what do you think? Are you going to be heading to LAUNCH? Have you been there already?
I was invited by Disney to an early preview of Mickey: The True Original Exhibition as press. All opinions are my own.
Last week I told you guys that Mickey: The True Original was coming to NYC and yesterday I had a chance to get a sneak peak of the exhibit. I was hype especially coming off of watching Mickeys 90th Spectacular, so I was READY to be immersed into ALL things Mickey and Disney.
BABY!!!! These artists did not disappoint. Mickey: The True Original takes the interactive/pop up experience to the next level as only Disney can. With each room, the artists took their love for Mickey and created in a unique way that only they could. With something different in every room, the love for the birthday boy was evident in the recreation of timeless moments in Mickey’s history and modern takes on the mouse.
Each room brings you art from a different artist and you experience Mickey in new ways in every few steps. Along the way there are special moments too, like hidden Mickeys and a special treat once you get close to the end of the exhibit that you definitely don’t want to miss ;). Check out some more pictures from the exhibit below.
“Mickey: The True Original Exhibition celebrates 90 years of Mickey Mouse’s influence on art and pop culture.
Opening in November 2018, this immersive experience is inspired by Mickey’s status as a ‘true original’ and his consistent impact on the arts and creativity in all its forms. Guests will have the chance to explore the 16,000 square-foot exhibition featuring both historic and contemporary work from renowned artists.”
Tickets for Mickey: The True Original can be purchased here. The exhibit is open November 8th, 2018 through February 2019 so you have plenty of time to make travel plans if you don’t live in New York. Trust me when I say, it’s an experience you don’t want to miss.
November 18th marks the iconic birthday of everyone’s favorite mouse! As you can expect the parks will be going ALL out for Mickey’s 90th with each park. They’ll all be hosting an array of different events and activities you can attend to show your appreciation for Mickey. Unfortunately here in NYC we haven’t been blessed with a Disney Park. Nevertheless, Disney is helping us to celebrate Mickey in a BIG WAY!
Mickey: The True Original Exhibition is NYCs latest immersive experience inspired by the mouse himself. Opening on November 8th, you will be able to view an array of Mickey inspired art in this 16000 square foot exhibit located in Manhattan. The exhibit promises to show you Mickey like you have never seen him before.
With these new immersive pop-ups being the latest trend, I’m excited to get up close and personal with Mickey in a new way! Mickey: The True Original Exhibition runs from November 8th to February 10th 2019 and you can purchase tickets now via Disney.
Keep up with the exhibit by following Mickey: The True Original on Instagram.
Cant make it to the exhibit? Want to celebrate from the comfort of your own home? Mickey’s 90th Spectacular airs this Sunday, November 4th 2018 at 8|7c on ABC.
I love long weekends! Thanks to the holiday weekend we got an early start on our fall activities and we were able to check out the all the fall fun at the Queens County Farm Museum. The farms fall programs generally run on weekends from 11am – 4:30pm but due to the long weekend they were open on Columbus Day. We got there around 2pm (because we never get anywhere early) and the boys were excited to check out all the farm had to offer.
Admission onto the grounds is completely free. So you’re able to explore the farm and the pumpkin patch free of charge. Prices for pumpkins are based on size and start at $4. We actually didn’t take any pumpkins home because they were looking a little abused. I’m gonna chalk it up to first weekend excitement *shrugs*…. not sure, but we didn’t have that problem last year even though we went a lot later in October. The farm also has a huge corn maze which we haven’t checked out because the boys are just too young to care about it. They do have Maze by Moonlight on 2 Saturday evenings this month so that may be something adults are in to.
I was actually surprised RJ asked to do the pony ride even though he’s done it before. Last year when he did it he was only JUST turning 3 and I didn’t think he’d remember. He definitely brought it up before we even got out of the car. It’s a cute photo opp but they do only walk the pony around once and it’s $4. The part of the farm the boys loved the most was the petting zoo. This is the part of the farm that has ALL the activities.
A Petting Zoo and More
Entrance to the petting zoo is $8 a person (12 months and up) and they give you lettuce to feed all the animals. This part of the farm also has tractors, areas for kids to climb/jump, a reptile farm and a “slide” area. This is obviously where we spent most of our time and where the boys ran out ALL of their energy.
There is so much more to the farm that we didn’t even check out. Of course they have fresh vegetables for sale, food vendors, hayrides, bathrooms that aren’t porter potties (yasssssss God!!) & more! Click the arrows to check out more pictures from our day at the farm below.
What is your favorite fall activity? Do you take your littles pumpkin picking? Are you going to check out the Queens County Farm Museum? Lets chat!
Listen, if you’re a mom with a little boy… then you obviously feel my struggle and that’s how you landed here. Little girls have it all… tea parties and kiddie salons and mini spas… they get the works! Little boys are left to the wayside to fend for themselves and play in somebodies dirt somewhere and are just supposed to be happy with that. Dramatic perhaps, but hey! I’m known for drama and I’m tired of feeling like my babies aren’t as important because they can’t get their nails painted or have princess parties or whatever. We need places to play too! So I’ve done my research and I’ve dug up some of the best places I could find in and around the city to bring your little sonshines for a playdate.
If you’re wondering whether the new Laser Bounce location in Atlas Park is appropriate for toddlers then the answer is a resounding YES! We decided to visit the newly opened location during mid-winter recess to check it out and RJ had a BLAST!
Laser bounce features a HUGE Ballocity Arena which gives the kids a chance to propel, throw, dump and vacuum foam balls. The arena is multi-level and features a huge variety of blasters, vacuums and even has a slide. There are literally hundreds, if not thousands of balls in the arena and there was plenty of space to run around. Some of the vacuums/blasters were a little loud and RJ was startled initially but he got used to it pretty quickly.
The Bounce Arena had multiple bouncy houses including a basketball themed bounce house and a huge inflatable wack-a-mole. Anyone that knows RJ knows jumping is his THING. He wanted to stay in the bounce arena for a lot longer but we wanted to make sure he tried out multiple areas of the arcade since we purchased the package that also included arcade credits, highway 66 bowling and the ballocity and bounce arenas for $20.
I didnt get to take that many additional photos because once RJ wasn’t in a confined area he was OUT! Luckily for us we went on a day that wasn’t super crowded and I suspect it was because not many people realized the location was open yet but its been a few weeks since then and I’m sure word has definitely spread. Luckily, the do split up the time in the Ballocity and Bounce Arena into sessions so that it’s not a free for all and I’m sure that reduces the crowding in the areas.
Aside from everything mentioned, the location also has a huge laser tag arena, a mission impossible style laser maze, hologate VR and a huge selection of arcade games. While the first couple things I just mentioned may not work exactly for younger ones, a lot of the arcade games were perfect for RJs size. I loved that there were a lot of games he could play and didn’t really need my help which is hard to find in an arcade at 3 (minus Chuck E. Cheese)
All in all this location has a wide array of things to do and they have packages that are priced amazingly! I can’t wait to take RJ back. It’s definitely a great place to have your littles burn off some energy and enjoy a nice quiet car ride home.
For more information on Laser Bounce at Atlas Park feel free to visit their website here.
Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored in any way. I used my own coins to pay for our package and am simply giving an honest review based on our experience at this location. I definitely can’t wait to check them out again!
My family and I were invited to an exclusive preview of Santa HQ in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
If you know me, you know I LOVE Christmas. I count down the days until next Christmas starting December 26th, its that real. I love everything about the holiday and when I had RJ I couldn’t wait until he was old enough to take pictures with Santa.
HGTV has REALLY stepped up the Santa experience and made the dreaded wait in the mall line worth it! Santa HQ takes you through an interactive experience which allows kids to be scanned at the Naughty or Nice O’Meter, check out Santa’s world through special tablets and even download the Elf Ray Vision app to get a sneak peak at what Santa’s elves are working on in 3D in designated areas throughout Santa HQ.
The whole experience is truly amazing and we’ve been 2 years in a row now because kids are so hands on and the experience is WORTH IT! Check out some additional pictures below.
Santa HQ is open from November 10 through December 24 and is located on Level 2, Center Court. For hours, to make reservations, or how you can have breakfast with Santa check out all the information here.
I was invited to attend a Private Holiday Preview Party at Bowlmor @ Chelsea Piers as a guest. All opinions expressed as always, belong to me. =)
It is a rarity that I get out of the house without children so when Shaye invited me and Saisha to go with her to Bowlmor’s private preview party I probably got dressed like 2 weeks in advance. HAHA. Seriously, I was excited to have a girls night and get out minus chasing a toddler or awkward breastfeeding aerobics in public. I had SO much fun and I’m convinced everyone needs to host a party there AT LEAST once. I’m about to tell you why.
The food is SO GOOD.
No seriously. If you know me you know I LOVE to eat and Bowlmor didn’t disappoint with the typical pizza and soda options. I think I messaged Saisha about the food the DAY BEFORE. They have a variety of different menu options and I was excited that the flyer said GOURMET food. You can choose from BBQ picnic style, ice cream and dessert bars, Italian food and soooo much more. Ever seen that Insider video of the Behemoth Burger??
Yup, thats at Bowlmor.
You can do more than just bowl.
Because I’m horrible at bowling. But they have laser tag, an arcade, a bar, I’m pretty sure I saw pool and my favorite was the gravity ropes course. I had ALL the liquid courage that night and even though I had a mini heart attack once I got up there it was A LOT of fun. Also, we lost our game of laser tag but everyone was in such a good mood we didn’t take the loss TOO hard. Well, Shaye kinda did HAHA.
Even though you’re playing like a kid, the atmosphere is definite adult vibes.
They have private rooms with cute couches, multiple bars and an all around cozy and adult feel. It was way different than any bowling setting I’ve ever been in. I definitely was expecting the bright light and sticky floor experience that I remember having in one of my elementary school birthday parties. NOTHING like that. Seriously, laid back. And they play really good music.
If you suck at bowling like I do, you’ll be having too much fun to even care.
Seriously, the scores were sad. But I had so much fun eating and laughing that I didn’t even care. Everyone from the staff to the other guests were just there for a good time and the vibes were amazing all night. I definitely want to go back, maybe for a date night?
Interested yet? Make sure you check out Shaye’s post over on ViciousQuipster if you need more convincing. You definitely need to plan your next party at Bowlmor and if you do make sure you use code SWEETGIFT17 to get a $20 gift card for each guest and free dessert for your entire party! Have you been to Bowlmor? Are you excited to go? Let me know what you think in the comments. xoxo
