It has been a couple weeks since we screened The Secret Life of Pets 2 and now we’re finally 2 days way from it being released in theaters. The boys have been WAITING for this movie. They recorded reactions to every single trailer, RJ had them memorized before the movie came out and the first Secret Life of Pets is still on heavy rotation in our house. We pretty much have been containing our excitement for months, but alas we got to check it out in advance. So did the movie live up to the hype? Is The Secret Life of Pets 2 appropriate for younger children? I’m sharing all the details in this no-spoiler review.
Our family was hosted at an advanced screening of The Secret Life of Pets 2 courtesy of Universal Pictures. As always, all opinions expressed are my own.
In only 50 days, Jon Favreau’s live action take on The Lion King premieres in theaters worldwide. Aside from a few trailers, we haven’t gotten much of a sneak peek at the movie until today. Disney finally released The Lion King’s official character posters with just a little under 2 months to go. I have so many emotions about seeing this movie in live action. If I know anything from when I saw Aladdin last week, I know that live action remakes are not EXACTLY the same as the original. However, I felt like this was the perfect time for me to share my top moments from The Lion King that I can’t wait to see in live action.
Obviously here on our site we share A LOT of movie reviews. And what better way would I be able to tell you if Smallfoot or Missing Link were appropriate for young children than without actually taking the children? For a lot of parents the idea of taking their young children to the movies makes them break out into a sweat. But honestly I go at it with a 4 and a 1 year old regularly and it is never THAT bad. So how do I do it? I have a couple of to tips to surviving the movies with young children.
We still have a few more weeks of school left, but I’m already planning some things that we can do once school ends. Museums, playgrounds, zoos and the movies are all on my list. We’re fortunate to live in such an amazingly busy city. So while I’m positive we won’t run out of things to do, I gotta stay ready. My kids are sweaty and summer is HOT so the more things I can find to do indoors the better. Enter Regal Summer Movie Express! I am probably late AF but I was so excited when I learned about Regal’s summer promotion.
All summer long on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, you and your family can enjoy a large selection of movies for just $1. The line up features an amazing list of movies such as Secret Life of Pets, Sing, The Grinch, Smallfoot and more! What’s even more awesome is that a portion of all the proceeds go to charity. So you’re seeing the movies that you love, at an affordable price and helping someone else! Check out the full lineup of movies below. Continue Reading →
*My family and I were invited to an advance screening of Uglydolls by The Moms Network. While our screening was complimentary, all opinions in this post are my own*
It’s been almost 2 weeks since the boys and I screened UglyDolls but the movie is still crystal clear in my head. I fell in love with UglyDolls from the moment I saw the first trailer. I knew it was going to be good. Then I realized that Janelle Monae was the voice of Mandi, one of the dolls. So I REALLY knew it was going to be good. The cast of UglyDolls is filled with some amazing musical voices, and if you don’t know we LOVE a good musical movie. So when we were invited to an advanced screening of the movie I was IN. After all, I wasn’t going to turn down a chance to witness the movie musical event of the year.
