As a mama to littles, we LIVE on Disney Junior. From sun up to sundown Bingo, Rolly and Nancy take over our house. So much time is spent on Disney Junior that RJ calls Vampirina my daughter and constantly reminds me that her and Nancy are my “favorite girls” (#boymom). That being said, when we go to Disney seeing Mickey and Minnie are amazing, but seeing the characters that we have grown to love on a daily basis is even more special.
As a newbie I totally expected the Disney Junior characters to be hanging out in Magic Kingdom somewhere. When you look all over the internet, everyone suggests Magic Kingdom as the one park to take your smallest Disney fans. They’re totally not there. In fact, most of your favorite Disney Junior characters can be found hanging out in Hollywood Studios in Animation Courtyard.
Dino moms rejoice! Just when I thought RJ may be growing out of animated cartoons on Disney Junior, they surprise us again with Gigantosaurus! Gigantosaurus follows four dinosaur friends as they explore the world beyond their nests to tackle the master of the biggest, fiercest dinosaur of all. Mazu, Tiny, Bill and Rocky are four friends who kids will feel an instant connection to. What preschooler you know doesn’t love dinosaurs?

Over the weekend an episode of Doc McStuffins entitled “The Emergency Plan” aired featuring a doll family that consisted of two moms and two children. In the episode, the doll couple (voiced by Wanda Sykes and Portia de Rossi) is separated by an Earthquake cause by one of the other toys in McStuffinsville because they do not have an emergency plan and concludes with them creating one after being reunited by Doc and her team.
While many praised the episode for its inclusion and diversity we know, theres always one. Organization ‘One Million Moms‘ has their panties in a bunch over ‘The Emergency Plan’ accusing McStuffins creator Chris Nee (who is an out lesbian) of pushing “an agenda” and veering away from family friendly content. They even go so far as to urge other “conservative families” to write to Disney urging them not to air the episode with the ultimatum being Disney not being allowed in their homes for “fear” of seeing commercials, reruns or previews of the episode. Dramatic much?
I can’t speak for anyone at Disney but I’m sure they’re paying One Million Moms no mind. Check out “The Emergency Plan” on Disney Junior or watch online here. As always, leave your thoughts in the comments below!

On Sunday June 4th Doc, Audrey and Hannah (Audrey’s doll) will all be coming to Disney Junior at 8am EDT to tackle a special subject on an episode of Doc McStuffins. Audrey is a 4 year old little girl going through chemotherapy whose doll comes to the Doc for a problem that causes her to lose her hair also. This episode is even more special in the fact that GMA news anchor Robin Roberts (a cancer survivor) plays the voice of Audrey’s mom.
While cancer may seem like too deep of a topic for preschoolers, Leukemia is the most common cancer in children and teens and Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia usually peaks between ages 2 and 4. Children’s hospitals across the country are going to hold special advance screenings of the episode for patients. Love it Disney!
“Hannah the Brave” airs on Sunday June 4th at 8am EST on Disney Channel. Will you be tuning in?
