We saw Aladdin earlier this week in a pre-screening and if you didn’t get a chance to see my no spoiler review, we loved it! The visuals, the music and the cast were all amazing. But you know as a die hard Aladdin fan I spotted the differences VERY easily. And trust, the differences started right at the beginning. However, the differences in the live action film made it the amazing movie that it was. It told the story of Aladdin and still connected with audiences in so many more amazing ways. So what were the differences between the live action and animated aladdin? I’m about to break it down for you.
You guys know, I have been hype about the release of this movie since it was announced. When everyone else’s faith wavered with the first trailer, I still held out faith. Last night I attended an advanced screening of Aladdin and my faith was confirmed. The movie was every bit of magic that I was prepared for it to be and more. It definitely differed from the animated version, but the difference did not make it bad. I completely fell in love with Aladdin in an all new way and that is exactly what I hoped for. So is Aladdin appropriate for young children? I’m about to give you all the (spoiler free) details.
We are a week and a half away from Aladdin being released in theaters everywhere and literally every clip that I have seen has no disappointed. I keep telling y’all I had faith in Aladdin since the first trailer. And I’ve held on to that optimism since. With every trailer that followed that, the visuals have continued to stun and the characters I’ve loved since I was a little girl have literally come to life. There have been some doubts about Will Smith playing the role of genie, but I’m excited to see him take on this role. If anyone can do justice to the role played by the late Robin Williams, it’s him.
It’s here guys! It’s finally time! On Monday tickets for Disney’s Aladdin went on sale everywhere tickets are sold. Monday night on our variety show The Brown Side of Disney we discussed Aladdin for quite some time. This movie is not without controversy but I feel like it’s not getting the hype it deserves! I’m definitely going to be getting my tickets in advance, even if I’m sitting up in there alone! Are y’all excited about Aladdin?
When the second trailer for Aladdin dropped and we got the first “live” look at the genie, boy was the internet talking!! Everyone had something to say, as usual. In Entertainment Weekly’s first look, everyone was mad that Will Smith wasn’t blue. Then when we finally got to see him blue, the internet was BIG MAD. People complained that the CGI was horrible, that he looked creepy, and that he wouldn’t live up to Robin Williams’ genie.
Today friends, the official trailer dropped for Disney’s Aladdin.
And I’m so excited that I actually said I was going to throw up during my reaction video. Y’all know how I feel about Aladdin, Ive been talking about this movie ever since they announced the live-action version was coming out. To get an ever closer look at it?!?! It was EVERYTHING I needed tonight.
