I was excited to be in the room with so many amazing creatives, story tellers and lovers of all things Disney! We learned a ton of amazing info on how to grow as creators, engage our audience and make sure we are telling our story. But I know that isn’t what you’re here for. We also heard a little bit more about all the new and exciting things that Disney has planned for the rest of the 2019 season and beyond. I’m here to share all the deets!

Will Smith Performs Prince Ali + Aladdin Printables

We are a week and a half away from Aladdin being released in theaters everywhere and literally every clip that I have seen has no disappointed. I keep telling y’all I had faith in Aladdin since the first trailer. And I’ve held on to that optimism since. With every trailer that followed that, the visuals have continued to stun and the characters I’ve loved since I was a little girl have literally come to life. There have been some doubts about Will Smith playing the role of genie, but I’m excited to see him take on this role. If anyone can do justice to the role played by the late Robin Williams, it’s him.

Disney+: The Cast of Disney’s Live Action Lady and the Tramp is Overflowing with Black Girl Magic

A few days ago I shared a good amount of what Disney had planned for their new streaming service Disney+ set to debut this fall. Among the announcement were plans for a number of live action movies that would be available exclusively on Disney+. Plans for a live action version of classic Lady and the Tramp were announced a while ago in 2018. Disney finally gave us a first look  at the Disney+ announcement event.

via Disney+

The cast of Lady and the Tramp is FULL of black girl magic!

Up until recently not much was known about this version of the movie. It’s reportedly a combination of live animals and CGI which should make for a pretty interesting movie. Tessa Thompson is the voice of lady, and the cast announcements have been flowing since then. In this version of the movie, Kiersey Clemons is set to play Darling, the human owner of Lady.

Also set to join the cast is Janelle Monae voicing the part of Peg, a super cute pound dog from the original movie. How awesome is it to have both Janelle and Tessa in one movie?! Too bad it’s a CGI film because I would love to see them on the “big screen” together. I’ve spoken about how representation in Disney films has made a difference before, so I am so glad to see it’s continuing into this year. The live action remakes haven’t come without controversy. Yet and still, I am so glad they are continuing to remake the classics we know and love. Not every one has been a hit, but I’m excited to see how this version plays out.

Lady and the Tramp will be available for streaming on Disney+ at the launch of the streaming service on November 12th. To stay up to date with all the latest Disney+ news, join their newsletter here

10+ Free Toy Story 4 Coloring Pages and Printables!

Can you believe it’s almost summer? And when June hits I will be spending ALL my time at the movies. There are so many incredible Disney (and non-disney) movies dropping between now and the end of the year and I cannot wait to give AMC all my coins! LOL. Toy Story is probably the Disney movie RJ is looking forward to seeing the most. It’s such a surreal feeling to remember my little brother and I being obsessed with this movie when we were growing up. And to think now I have children that know and love the very same characters is crazy.

Alien Popcorn Balls – #ToyStory4

My kids LOVE popcorn. The first time I realized RJ really loved popcorn was when we took him to Universoul Circus last year. He nearly ate an entire tub of popcorn on his own, and the love for popcorn hasn’t stopped since then. Now, even Zayn loves popcorn. And trust I know that kids his age are usually cautioned from eating popcorn because of the choking hazard, but they love it. We’re big on movies and so the amount of popcorn we eat up in here is CRAZY.

With the release of so many Disney movies this year, we’re planning to spend ALOT of time at the movies. We’re gearing up for some of our favorite animated movies to return to the big screen and snacks are always high on our list. I fell in love with the aliens in the original Toy Story and so it was easy for them to inspire this recipe. Plus, #Boymom. Any time the boys get a chance to eat green food (that isn’t a vegetable) they’re all for it! Continue Reading →

Avengers Endgame: Special Look Trailer Thoughts

Guys!! It’s April and it’s officially what I’m calling Avengers Day! We are so much closer to the premiere of Avengers Endgame and my heart is POUNDING after watching the special look trailer today. I have so many emotions about what Marvel has given us so far (hello Shuri!) and I know they probably aren’t going to give us too much more. I’m going to be traveling and BUSY premiere weekend but I’m hoping I can sneak some time in to check it out before too many spoilers are all over the internet.

This trailer had me in my feelings.
