Everything really was awesome this weekend. We headed out bright and early Saturday morning to check out The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part. RJ watches every single LEGO movie/show he can find. He loves blocks and he always has, so I knew he was going to be hype about going to see this one. So is the LEGO movie a good movie for young children? Check out my review below.
So I’m not gonna lie to you guys, when I was given the opportunity to screen Fighting with my Family, I opened my email with confusion. It has been a LONG time since I watched anything wrestling related and I was not familiar with Paige, nor her rise to fame at all. Still, the trailer intrigued me and I decided to give it a shot, and of course the fact that Dwayne Johnson stars in the film also may have been a persuading factor.
FIGHTING WITH MY FAMILY is a heartwarming comedy based on the incredible true story of WWE Superstar Paige™. Born into a tight-knit wrestling family, Paige and her brother Zak are ecstatic when they get the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to try out for WWE. But when only Paige earns a spot in the competitive training program, she must leave her family and face this new, cut-throat world alone. Paige’s journey pushes her to dig deep, fight for her family, and ultimately prove to the world that what makes her different is the very thing that can make her a star.
When I finished watching the movie I was so glad that I took a chance. Fighting with My Family is so much more than a wrestling movie. You will laugh, you may cry, and you will fall in love with the “Knights”. No spoilers ahead, I’m going to tell you a few lessons that rang true when I viewed this film, and during my interview with the cast, Paige herself, and director Stephen Merchant.
Let’s get right to it friends, Dumbo is probably THE CUTEST movie that is coming out this year. And for this reason, it’s going to be the hardest for me to watch. I’m all for the live-action movie trend going on but look how freakin’ cute baby Dumbo is. The animated version of this movie is EMOTIONAL. So seeing Dumbo look SOO real, is hard. Check out the new sneak peek Disney shared with us a few days ago:
And I’m so excited that I actually said I was going to throw up during my reaction video. Y’all know how I feel about Aladdin, Ive been talking about this movie ever since they announced the live-action version was coming out. To get an ever closer look at it?!?! It was EVERYTHING I needed tonight.
Check out my reaction video:
In the year of our lord and savior 2019, I am all about coming together and uplifting people in the African American community. If you read my post highlighting the black mommy bloggers you should be following on Instagram, you already know where I’m going. I am a habitual uplifter, and now more than ever we are required to put ourselves out there, in front of everyone and show that we aren’t afraid to create our own spaces.
I, much like everyone have loved Disney since I was a little girl. My earliest Disney memory is at 2 years old when I saw my first (I’m assuming) Disney movie in theaters and the love has continued long and strong since then. When I joined the Disney Moms of Color community I was excited to connect with so many other women of color who aren’t afraid to share their love for all things Disney. I almost feel as if in the black community Disney was seen as unattainable for so long and it’s great to connect with people who aren’t afraid to spread the pixie dust!
From the best places to stay, to Disney on a Dime these families are showing off their Disney side and I’m loving every single second of it!
